چکیده

The effects of CO2 flow rate and calcium source on the particle size (PS) and specific surface area (SSA) of CaCO3 particles were evaluated using microbubble generator (MBG) and air diffuser (AD) systems. The carbonate mineralization (CM) and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) methods were employed to produce CaCO3 using gypsum and Ca(OH)2 as the calcium sources, respectively. The CaCO3 particles prepared using the MBG were smaller (with larger specific surface area) than those obtained using the conventional AD, regardless of the calcium source. The average PSs were 2–3 and 7–9 μm for the MBG and AD systems, respectively. Moreover, the PS and SSA of the particles prepared using the MBG were not greatly affected by the CO2 injection rate. This study clearly demonstrates that the use of an MBG ensures the stable production of fine CaCO3 particles using various calcium sources and a wider range of CO2 flow rates.

The Effect of Bubble Surface Area Flux on Flotation Efficiency of Pyrite Particles

In this research, the effect of bubble surface area flux, Sb, and particle size on flotation rate constant, k, of pyrite (FeS2) particles was studied using bubble-particle interactions. The bubble-particle collision, attachment and detachment efficiencies were calculated under different flow regimes. The k increased with increase in the collision efficiency and decreas...

Effect of MgAl2O4 catalyst support synthesis method on the catalytic activity of nickel Nano catalyst in reverse water gas shift reaction

In this research effect of synthesis method of magnesium aluminate as support of Ni catalysts at the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction was evaluated. The RWGS reaction is applied in Carbon Dioxide Hydrogenation to Form Methanol via a Reverse Water-Gas Shift Reaction (CAMERE) process for the transformation of CO2 into methanol. The MgAl2O4 supports were prepared by sol-gel (M1), surfactant...

Effect of frother type and operational parameters on nano bubble flotation of quartz coarse particles

In this work, the effects of the types of frother (MIBC, pine oil, and A65) and operational parameters (impeller speed and air flow rate) on the flotation of quartz coarse particles was investigated using nano bubbles (NBs). Quartz particles of the size of -425+106 mm and three types of frother were used for the flotation experiments. Also the impeller speed was 600 to 1300 rpm, and the air flo...

Interactional effects of bubble size, particle size, and collector dosage on bubble loading in column flotation

The success of flotation operation depends upon the thriving interactions of chemical and physical variables. In this work, the effects of particle size, bubble size, and collector dosage on the bubble loading in a continuous flotation column were investigated. In other words, this work was mainly concerned with the evaluation of the true flotation response to the changes in the operating varia...

The Effect of Micro Turbulence on Quartz Flotation Rate

In this research, the effect of micro turbulence on the flotation rate of quartz particles was investigated. The maximum particle Reynolds number (Rep) was obtained at 60.25 with a particle size of -500+420 µm, impeller speed of 900 rpm, bubble surface area flux of 10.21 1/s and micro scale turbulence size of 162 µm. When the micro turbulence size was equal to the particle size, ...
